Zoom H2n Handy Recorder Kit

The Zoom H2n Handy Recorder is a small format 2 to 4 channel audio recorder. It features four built in microphones with four selectable pick-up patterns, enabling stereo and surround sound configurations. It can record in .MP3 or Broadcast quality .WAV file, each channel records as a separate file allowing for post-production mixing.

It can be used to record from a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack output (such as a microphone or line out from a mixer) but does not have an XLR jack like the other Zoom recorders.

This is the most user friendly of all the Zoom models when in comes to using the device as both a microphone and recorder, especially in audio only situations. (Podcasts, Radio, etc.)

The kit includes monitor headphones and various accessories for different recording situations.

The Zoom H6 Handy Recorder is a medium format 2 to 6 channel audio recorder. It has four microphone inputs that accept XLR and TRS sources, included in the kit is a standard XY stereo capsule as well as a M/S stereo capsule. All four onboard XLR microphone inputs can output phantom power to applicable microphones. It can record in .MP3 or a broadcast quality .WAV file, each channel records as a separate file allowing for post-production mixing.

It's inputs and microphone capsule can all be used simultaneously (with different sources such as microphones, instrument cables, or a line out from a mixer), with each source and both sides of the stereo mic recorded as separate tracks.

This kit is the most capable for extensive audio for video tasks, where many sources must be recorded simultaneously (i.e. three wireless lapel microphones and a shotgun (or stereo microphone) for general coverage.) Such a set-up requires some experience with audio recorders to properly manage the recording process.

The kit includes monitor headphones and a neck strap, which allows this recorder to be used more like a conventional on body film sound mixer/recorder.
