Conversations in Contemporary Art Presents Kevin B. Lee

In his lecture, Kevin Lee will present excerpts of his current research project investigating contemporary online and social media. Lee will discuss his use of desktop-based experiential research methods in relation to themes of post-cinema and operational images, cultures of attention and distraction, viral and influencer media, terrorism and propaganda.

Kevin B. Lee is a filmmaker and critic who has made over 360 video essays exploring film and media. His award-winning Transformers: The Premake was named one of the best documentaries of 2014 by Sight & Sound Magazine. In 2017 he was the first Artist in Residence of the Harun Farocki Institute in Berlin. He teaches at the Merz Akademie in Stuttgart, where he is launching a new Cross Media Publishing curriculum.

Admission for all Conversations in Contemporary Art events is free and open to the general public. Please note that seating is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. The lectures are held in English and posted to our Youtube channel.
